Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Vitara is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We pay particular care to health data, which we treat with the highest level of protection.

01Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, join an organization, or participate in challenges. This includes your name, email address, and profile details.

We also collect health and fitness data that you explicitly authorize through Apple Health (HealthKit) or Google Health Connect. This includes steps, distance, calories burned, heart rate, sleep data, and hydration metrics. We only access health data with your explicit permission and only the data types required for active challenges.

Usage data such as app interactions, feature usage patterns, and device identifiers are collected automatically to improve our service.

02How We Use Your Information

Health and fitness data is used solely to calculate your challenge scores, update leaderboards, and display your progress within the app. We do not sell, share, or use health data for advertising purposes.

Account information is used to manage your profile, authenticate you, and communicate important service updates. Challenge and organization data is used to power the features you participate in, including leaderboards, team standings, and progress tracking.

We may use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our product and understand usage patterns. This data cannot be traced back to individual users.

03Health Data

Vitara integrates with Apple HealthKit and Google Health Connect to read health metrics. This integration is subject to the health platform's own privacy terms in addition to ours.

Health data is transmitted securely and stored in encrypted form. We do not share your individual health data with third parties, advertisers, or other users beyond what is necessary to display challenge results within your organization.

You may revoke health data access at any time through your device settings. Revoking access will prevent metric syncing but will not delete previously recorded data unless you request account deletion.

04Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

With other members of your organization, to the extent required to display leaderboards and challenge results. Other members can see your display name, ranking, and challenge scores. They cannot see your raw health data or personal account details.

With service providers who help us operate our platform, such as cloud infrastructure and authentication services. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

05Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Challenge and leaderboard data is retained to provide historical records.

If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business need. Health metric data associated with your account is deleted immediately upon account deletion.

You may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your data at any time by contacting us.

06Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for all data in transit and AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no security system is impenetrable. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login credentials confidential.

In the event of a data breach that affects your information, we will notify you promptly in accordance with applicable law.

07Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through the app settings. You may also request a copy of your data in a portable format.

You may withdraw consent for health data access at any time through your device's health platform settings. You may opt out of non-essential communications through your notification preferences.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

08Children's Privacy

Vitara is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

09Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or by email. Your continued use of Vitara after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
